曰仁云：「心猶鏡也，聖人心如明鏡，常人心如昏鏡。近世『格物』之說，如以鏡照物；照上用功，不知鏡尚昏在，何能照？先生之『格物』，如磨鏡而使之明，磨上用功，明了後亦未嘗廢照。」
