問：「心要逐物，如何則可？」 先生曰：「人君端拱清穆，六卿分職，天下乃治。心統五官，亦要如此。今眼要視時，心便逐在色上；耳要聽時，心便逐在聲上。如人君要選官時，便自去坐在吏部；要調軍時，便自去坐在兵部。如此，豈惟失卻君體，六卿亦皆不得其職。」
