九川問曰：「伊川說到體用一原、顯微無間處，門人已說是泄天機，先生『致知』之說，莫亦泄天機太甚否？」 先生曰：「聖人已指以示人，只為後人揜匿，我發明耳，何故說泄？此是人人自有的，覺來甚不打緊一般。然與不用實功人說，亦甚輕忽可惜，彼此無益；與實用功而不得其要者提撕之，甚沛然得力。」
