虔州將歸，有詩別先生云：「良知何事繫多聞，妙合當時已種根，好惡從之為聖學，將迎無處是乾元。」 先生曰：「若未來講此學，不知說『好惡從之』從個甚麼。」 敷英在座曰：「誠然。嘗讀先生《大學古本序》，不知所說何事；及來聽講許時，乃稍知大意。」
