問：「『中人以下，不可以語上』。愚的人與之語上尚且不進；況不與之語，可乎？」 先生曰：「不是聖人終不與語。聖人的心，憂不得人人都做聖人。只是人的資質不同，施教不可躐等。中人以下的人：便與他說『性』、說『命』，他也不省得；也須謾謾琢磨他起來。」
