先生起行征思田，德洪與汝中追送嚴灘。汝中舉佛家「實相」、「幻相」之說。 先生曰：「有心俱是實，無心俱是幻。無心俱是實，有心俱是幻。」 汝中曰：「『有心俱是實，無心俱是幻』，是本體上說工夫。『無心俱是實，有心俱是幻』，是工夫上說本體。」 先生然其言。 洪於是時尚未了達。數年用功，始信本體、工夫合一。但先生是時因問偶談；若吾儒指點人處，不必借此立言耳。
