來書云：「近時學者務外遺內，博而寡要。故先生特倡『誠意』一義，針砭膏育，誠大惠也。」 吾子洞見時弊如此矣。亦將何以救之乎？然則鄙人之心，吾子固已一句道盡，復何言哉？復何言哉？若「誠意」之說，自是聖門教人用功第一義。但近世學者乃作第二義看，故稍與提掇緊要出來，非鄙人所能特倡也。
