「毋訪于佞」，言毋用佞人也，用佞人則私多行；「毋蓄于諂」，言毋聽諂，聽諂則欺上；「毋育于凶」，言毋使暴，使暴則傷民；「毋監于讒」，言毋聽讒，聽讒則失士。夫行私、欺上、傷民、失士，此四者用，所以害君義失正也。夫爲君上者既失其義正，而倚以爲名譽，爲臣者不忠而邪，以趨爵祿，亂俗數世，以偷安懷樂，雖廣其威可須也。故曰：「不正廣其荒。」是以古之人阻其路，塞其遂，守而物修。故著之簡筴，傳以告後世人曰：「其爲怨也深，是以威盡焉。」
