問曰：「多賢可云？」對曰：「魚鼈之不食咡者，不出其淵。樹木之勝霜雪者，不聽於天。士能自治者，不從聖人。豈云哉？夷吾之聞之也，不欲强能不服，智而不牧。若旬虛期於月津，若出於一明，然則可以虛矣。故阨其道而薄其所予，則士云矣。不擇人而予之，謂之好人；不擇人而取之，謂之好利。審此兩者以爲處行，則云矣。」
