「請問形有時而變乎？」對曰：「陰陽之分定，則甘苦之草生也。從其宜，則酸鹹和焉，而形色定焉，以爲聲樂。夫陰陽進退滿虛時亡，其散合可以視歲。唯聖人不爲歲，能知滿虛，奪餘滿，補不足，以通政事，以贍民常。地之變氣，應其所出。水之變氣，應之以精，受之以豫。天之變氣，應之以正。且夫天地精氣有五，不必爲沮，其亟而反其重陔，動毀之進退即此，數之難得者也。此形之時變也。」
