人君唯毋聽羣徒比周，則羣臣朋黨，蔽美揚惡，然則國之情僞不見於上。如是則朋黨者處前，寡黨者處後。夫朋黨者處前，賢不肖不分，則爭奪之亂起，而君在危殆之中矣。故曰：「羣徒比周之說勝，則賢不肖不分。」
