「古者，事生盡愛，送死盡哀。故聖人為制節，非虛加之。今生不能致其愛敬，死以奢侈相高；雖無哀戚之心，而厚葬重幣者，則稱以為孝，顯名立於世，光榮著於俗。故黎民相慕效，至於發屋賣業。
