文學曰：「秦左殽、函，右隴阺，前蜀、漢，後山、河，四塞以為固，金城千里，良將勇士，設利器而守陘隧，墨子守雲梯之械也。以為雖湯、武復生，蚩尤復起，不輕攻也。然戍卒陳勝無將帥之任，師旅之眾，奮空拳而破百萬之師，無墻籬之難。故在德不在固。誠以仁義為阻，道德為塞，賢人為兵，聖人為守，則莫能入。如此則中國無狗吠之警，而邊境無鹿駭狼顧之憂矣。夫何妄行而之乎？」
