上召傅奕，賜之食，謂曰：「汝前所奏，幾為吾禍。然凡有天變，卿宜盡言皆如此，勿以前事為懲也。」上嘗謂奕曰：「佛之為教，玄妙可師，卿何獨不悟其理？」對曰：「佛乃胡中桀黠，誑耀彼土。中國邪僻之人，取莊、老玄談，飾以妖幻之語，用欺愚俗。無益於民，有害於國，臣非不悟，鄙不學也。」上頗然之。
