丁亥，上宴群臣，奏《秦王破陳樂》。上曰：「朕昔受委專征，民間遂有此曲，雖非文德之雍容，然功業由茲而成，不敢忘本。」封德彝曰：「陛下以神武平海內，豈文德之足比！」上曰：「戡亂以武，守成以文，文武之用，各隨其時。卿謂文不及武，斯言過矣。」德彝頓首謝。
