司馬光：Zizhi Tongjian, Volume 193, Entry 23

上謂執政曰：「朕常恐因喜怒妄行賞罰，故欲公等極諫。公等亦宜受人諫，不可以己之所欲，惡人違之。苟自不能受諫，安能諫人？」康國求內附。上曰：「前代帝王，好招來絕域，以求服遠之名，無益於用而糜弊百姓。今康國內附，儻有急難，於義不得不救。師行萬里，豈不疲勞！勞百姓以取虛名，朕不為也。」遂不受。
