謂侍臣曰：「治國如治病，病雖愈，尤宜將護，倘遽自放縱，病復作，則不可救矣。今中國幸安，四夷俱服，誠自古所希，然朕日慎一日，唯懼不終，故欲數聞卿輩諫爭也。」魏徵曰：「內外治安，臣不以為喜，唯喜陛下居安思危耳。」
