十二月，癸丑，帝與侍臣論安危之本。中書令溫彥博曰：「伏願陛下常如貞觀初，則善矣。」帝曰：「朕比來怠於為政乎？」魏徵曰：「貞觀之初，陛下志在節儉，求諫不倦。比來營繕微多，諫者頗有忤旨，此其所以異耳。」帝拊掌大笑曰：「誠有是事！」
