安州都督吳王恪數出畋獵，頗損居人；侍御史柳范奏彈之。丁丑，恪坐免官，削戶三百。上曰：「長史權萬紀事吾兒，不能匡正，罪當死。」柳范曰：「房玄齡事陛下，猶不能止畋獵，豈得獨罪萬紀！」上大怒，拂衣而入。久之，獨引范謂曰：「何面折我？」對曰：「陛下仁明，臣不敢不盡愚直。」上悅。
