軍至柳谷，詗者言文泰刻日將葬，國人咸集於彼，諸將請襲之，侯君集曰：「不可，天子以高昌無禮，故使吾討之，今襲人於墟墓之間，非問罪之師也。」於是鼓行而進，至田城，諭之，不下，詰朝攻之，及午而克，虜男女七千餘口。以中郎將辛獠兒為前鋒，夜，趨其都城，高昌逆戰而敗，大軍繼至，抵其城下。
