初，大亮為龐王兵曹，為李密所獲，同輩皆死，賊帥張弼見而釋之，遂與定交。及大亮貴，求弼，欲報其德，弼時為將作丞，自匿不言。大亮遇諸途而識之，持弼而泣，多推家貲以遣弼，弼拒不受。大亮言於上，乞悉以其官爵授弼，上為之擢弼為中郎將。時人皆賢大亮不負恩，而多弼之不伐也。
