薛延陀多彌可汗，性褊急，猜忌無恩，廢棄父時貴臣，專用己所親暱，國人不附。多彌多所誅殺，人不自安。回紇酋長吐迷度與僕骨、同羅共擊之，多彌大敗。乙亥，詔以江夏王道宗、左衛大將軍阿史那社爾為瀚海安撫大使；又遣右領衛大將軍執失思力將突厥兵，右驍衛大將軍契苾何力將涼州及胡兵，代州都督薛萬徹、營州都督張儉各將所部兵，分道並進，以擊薛延陀。
