上謂太子曰：「李世勣才智有餘，然汝與之無恩，恐不能懷服。我今黜之，若其即行，俟我死，汝於後用為僕射，親任之；若徘徊顧望，當殺之耳。」五月，戊午，以同中書門下三品李世勣為疊州都督；世勣受詔，不至家而去。
