太宗女衡山公主應適長孫氏，有司以為服既公除，欲以今秋成昏。於志寧上言：「漢文立制，本為天下百姓。公主服本斬衰，縱使服隨例除，豈可情隨例改，請俟三年喪畢成昏。」上從之。
