問：「看書不能明，如何？」 先生曰：「此只是在文義上穿求，故不明。如此，又不如為舊時學問。他到看得多，解得去。只是他為學雖極解得明曉，亦終身無得；須於心體上用功。凡明不得、行不去，須反在自心上體當，即可通。蓋《四書》、《五經》不過說這心體，這心體即所謂道，心體明即是道明，更無二。此是為學頭腦處。」
