「請問爲邊若何？」對曰：「夫邊日變，不可以常知觀也。民未始變而是變，是爲自亂。請問諸邊而參其亂，任之以事。因其謀，方百里之地，樹表相望者，丈夫走禍，婦人備食。內外相備，春秋一日，敗曰千金，稱本而動。候人不可重也，唯交於上，能必於邊之辭。行人可不有私，不有私，所以爲內因也。使能者有主矣，而內事。」
