行其山澤，觀其桑麻，計其六蓄之產，而貧富之國可知也。夫山澤廣大則草木易多也，壤地肥饒則桑麻易殖也，薦草多衍則六畜易繁也。山澤雖廣，草木毋禁；壤地雖肥，桑麻毋數；薦草雖多，六畜有征，閉貨之門也。故曰：時貨不遂，金玉雖多，謂之貧國也。故曰：行其山澤，觀其桑麻，計其六畜之產，而貧富之國可知也。
