人主者，擅生殺，處威勢，操令行禁止之柄，以御其羣臣，此主道也。人臣者，處卑賤，奉主令，守本任，治分職，此臣道也。故主行臣道則亂，臣行主道則危。故上下無分，君臣共道，亂之本也。故《明法》曰：「君臣共道則亂。」
