文學曰：「周襄王之母非無酒肉也，衣食非不如曾皙也，然而被不孝之名，以其不能事其父母也。君子重其禮，小人貪其養。夫嗟來而招之，投而與之，乞者由不取也。君子茍無其禮，雖美不食焉。故禮主人不親饋，則客不祭。是饋輕而禮重也。」
