上謂魏徵曰：「齊後主、周天元皆重斂百姓，厚自奉養，力竭而亡。譬如饞人自□敢其肉，肉盡而斃，何其愚也！然二主孰為優劣？」對曰：「齊後主懦弱，政出多門；周天元驕暴，威福在己；雖同為亡國，齊主尤劣也。」
