文本弟文昭為校書郎，喜賓客，上聞之不悅；嘗從容謂文本曰：「卿弟過爾交結，恐為卿累；朕欲出為外官，何如？」文本泣曰：「臣弟少孤，老母特所鍾愛，未嘗信宿離左右。今若出外，母必愁悴，倘無元此弟，亦無老母矣。」因歔欷嗚咽。上愍其意而止，惟召文昭嚴戒之，亦卒無過。九月，以諫議大夫褚遂良為黃門侍郎，參預朝政。
