大夫曰：「瞽師不知白黑而善聞言，儒者不知治世而善訾議。夫善言天者合之人，善言古者考之今。令何為施？法何為加？湯、武全肌骨而殷、周治，秦國用之，法弊而犯。二尺四寸之律，古今一也，或以治，或以亂。春秋原罪，甫刑制獄。今願聞治亂之本，周、秦所以然乎？」
