文學曰：「宋殤公知孔父之賢而不早任，故身死。魯莊知季有之賢，授之政晚而國亂。衛君近佞遠賢，子路居蒲，孔悝為政。簡公不聽宰我而漏其謀。是以二君身被放殺，而禍及忠臣。二子者有事而不與其謀，故可以死，可以生，去止其義一也。晏嬰不死崔、慶之難，不可謂不義；微子去殷之亂，可謂不仁乎？」
